By Tebogo Senosha

Soshanguve born lad Surprise Mogale and his team the Monate Cuisine have put their sight on a half million rands prize tag in the season 5 of the popular trendy outdoor television competition The
Ultimate Braai Master.

Monate Cuisine will be up against nine teams drawn from across the country in the journey to claim half a million rands.

In an interview with Sosh Times Mogale said that the experience so far has been astounding and that he is confident that his team will bring the prize money home.

“Travelling across the country has been really awesome for me and my team. And we are learning so much everyday about the importance of team-work and discipline,” said Mogale.

He said that competitions such as Ultimate Braai Master are needed in order to improve the standard of living in local communities.

He further said that he plans to build a restaurant in Soshanguve, should his team win this season’s competition.

“Winning this competition should somehow be advantageous to the people of Soshanguve because that is where I come from. So building a restaurant here will mean jobs for the people of Soshanguve as there would be chefs, cleaners and many more people working there,” he said.

The competition can be watched live every Sunday on etv at 4pm, with repeats the following Saturday at 4pm on the same channel.
