The popular Kaizer Chiefs supporter William Mukwevho launched a development soccer team in his kasi of Soshanguve Extension 2 to get kids out of the streets.

The Soshanguve-based football lover made headlines last year when he scooped the Sports Fan of The Year award at the Gauteng Sports Awards and he showed that football is his first love when he started his own development team.

His development team Invaders Development Fc campaigns in the local soccer league called Soshanguve District Football Association (SODIFA).

The 34-year old SA National Defence Force member said that his love for football started way back when he was still young and it has grown ever since.  But he admitted that attending soccer matches was a challenge for his family at first, but as time went on they slowly accepted and supported him.

"My family finally accepted that football is like my adopted baby and I love it a lot, and then they started supporting me," said Mukwevho.

Invaders Development FC coach Billy Molefe praised Mukwevho for coming up with an initiative that will take kids away from streets where they are likely to do drugs.

Molefe said, "What Mukwevho is doing in this place is great and even the parents of these kids are very supportive and happy about it."

Mukwevho plans to maintain his team with the Sports Fan of the Year prize money so that it can be promoted to higher ranks leagues such as ABC Motsepe League.
