By Tebogo Senosha
Letlhabile Community Radio Station’s first female afternoon drive
show host, Dineo Chauke is set forth to celebrating her first anniversary of
the listeners’ epic show “The Drive” which airs weekdays from
three to six.
Chauke who is
affectionately known for her splendid voice behind the microphone started
working at the station in May 2012 as a news reader.
In 2016, Chauke was promoted to host “The Drive”. She said that her mentor and colleague Mr. Lesley
Maselwane encouraged her for almost three years to host “The Drive” but she was not ready at the time.
“Hosting an afternoon show was a big step for me both
personally and professionally and I am grateful to Mr. Lesley Maselwane for
having so much faith in me,” said Chauke.
Chauke also praised her family for always supporting her and
for pushing her to work hard and to follow her dreams.
Speaking to Sosh Times recently, Chauke said
that she is living proof that hard work indeed pays off, also stressing out
that people should not let their background determine their future.
Chauke said, “I always knew that I had to work extremely hard
in order to accomplish greater things in life, and now I am being rewarded for
all the hard work I have been putting all those years”.
She further urged young people to never give up on their
dreams no matter how impossible they may
seem.
Chauke said that her dream is to one day work at Metro fm or
Yfm as a presenter.
